The role you'll contribute:

The Document Management Specialist is part of a Centralized Payment Posting team responsible for payment posting activities for the majority of AdventHealth services provided. These activities include posting insurance and patient payments, managing patient refunds and credit balances, patient and insurance correspondence, reconciliation, and other miscellaneous functions. AdventHealth services included in the Centralized Payment Posting activities are hospital, physician, urgent care, home health, hospice, among others. The Document Management Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely execution of file scanning and indexing activities surrounding correspondence received related to payment posting.

Obtain and process both hardcopy and electronic documents received from third parties and patient and payer lockboxes. This may include: scanning, document typing, indexing and workflow routing.

• Using professional judgment appropriately decision the routing and document retrieval needs of correspondence, including indexing documents to patient accounts in the patient accounting system and sharing with other departments for special processing

• Responsible for performing quality checks on all documents scanned, detect image errors and determine the cause of the errors, while maintaining the integrity of all documents

• Contact payors and other third parties when additional information is necessary to address a question on correspondence

• Work with third party lockbox, and technology vendors to identify areas for improved data capture as well as testing of enhancements and changes in the data capture process

• Perform effectively in fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills

• Achieve and maintain performance consistent with requirements for productivity, quality, and service levels

• Develop and maintain productive team-oriented relationships through individual contacts and group meetings

• Achieve superior customer satisfaction by embracing and exemplifying the AdventHealth service standards

• Perform other duties as assigned

• Available outside of normal business hours for occasional support needs

Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Three years of professional work experience.

• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)

• Ability to problem solve

• Professional and effective in communication skills

• Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and thoroughness

• Strong data entry skills

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience with document management systems such as: OnBase, ImageNow, OneContent, etc.

• Experience with insurance plans (e.g. Medicaid, Medicare, Blue Cross, Aetna, Cigna, etc.)
