Summary :

The Network Engineer is responsible for the evaluation, design, and implementation of enterprise networking systems. Be involved in technical work to develop, implement, and support the tools and solutions for business operations. The Network Engineer should be customer service-oriented individual with a solid background in implementing and supporting networking systems. The Network Engineer must be able to understand and make suggestions to update corporate policies and standardize procedures for network configurations, firewalls, routers, switches, wireless networking, VoIP, VPN, and security of a multi-site environment.

This position will be part of a diverse team with the responsibility to provide all levels of support for a multi-site enterprise. Responsibilities will also include assisting the team to meet required SLAs for supporting our end users, systems, and network uptime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Day-to-day management, administration, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of networking systems and platforms
  • Provide network support across organizational operating systems
  • Analyze, prioritize, and oversee daily tasks and educate team members and users as appropriate
  • Understand and contribute to corporate IT policy and standards
  • Design, implement, and manage network, server, telecommunication, solutions
  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot Wi-Fi and security infrastructure
  • Develop and oversee plans to improve and secure networking systems to corporate standards and best practices
  • Ensure installation of infrastructure cabling (Cat 6, Fiber) is performed to standard
  • Oversee and manage work by approved vendors
  • Consistently monitor and troubleshoot network and system stability and performance
  • Provide expert level troubleshooting skills to resolve network systems issues, and implement proper solutions
  • Lead the evaluation of IT technology opportunities for network systems performance
  • Assist and lead hardware and software rollouts, special projects and testing within specified deadlines
  • Assist in preparing, implementation, and monitoring disaster recovery procedures
  • Continue Professional Development by keeping up to date on IT industry technology and standards
  • Participate in on call rotation

    • Education Requirements:
    • Associate degree with 5-6 years of related networking systems experience. Or 6-7 years of related networking systems experience without a degree
    • Experience Requirements:
    • Supporting Virtualization technologies is considered a plus. Experience with Network Cabling standards is considered a plus. Microsoft, Cisco, Palo Alto or VMware experience is considered a plus. Experience with infrastructure cabling standards is considered a plus. Network Infrastructure management through IOS interface or equivalent tools is considered a plus. PowerShell scripting experience.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment, manufacturing and laboratory environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax and other standard office equipment. Worker occasionally exposed to extreme heat and cold with temperatures sufficiently high or low to cause marked bodily discomfort. Exposed to sufficient noise to cause worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. Worker could be exposed to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts. Works in laboratory, production line and warehouse environments. This position will require use of PPE.
