The Department of Water Resources' Modeling Support Office's Central Valley Modeling Section is seeking qualified candidates who can solve complex challenges associated with Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta (the Delta) and beyond.

Under the supervision of a Senior Engineer, Water Resources in the Central Valley Modeling Section of the Modeling Support Office, the incumbent is responsible for conducting water supply planning studies of State Water Project (SWP) and Central Valley Project (CVP) operations using DWR's water management simulation models.

Special Requirements

Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

The ideal candidate should have experience and knowledge conducting water supply planning studies of State Water Project (SWP) and Central Valley Project (CVP) operations using water resources simulation models. The incumbent should have knowledge and working experience with water resources modeling, data analysis, and strong communication/presentation skills. The incumbent is also required to work cooperatively with others; maintain regular, consistent, and predictable attendance; and exercise good judgment. Training will be provided commensurate with experience, skill level, and assigned responsibilities.
