Under the guidance of the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management, the Enrollment Business Systems Analyst has overall responsibility for working with units within and outside the Division of Enrollment Management to identify, review, prioritize, develop and implement effective business processes related to enrollment, course registration, payment, and financial services. This position serves as a liaison between Enrollment Management, Strategic Communications, IT and other offices as needed to ensure that needed technical requirements are addressed and process objectives are met.Additional duties include acting as troubleshooter and trainer as needed

Specific Responsibilities
  • Develop and document improved business processes and procedures to promote efficiency, greater productivity, and support operational decision making within the Enrollment Management Division.
  • Interpret business system requirements and evaluate the need for new system processes and changes in current system processes.
  • Provide coordination technology-related projects for the Enrollment Management Division.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including Banner validation and rule forms.
  • Work independently with end users to identify, evaluate, implement, and maintain technical solutions to address business process requirements.
  • Function at a "power user" skill level in Banner modules.
  • Provide oversight for the generation and distribution of reports and student correspondence using Banner and other software such as Brio and eVisions.
  • Provide system education training for College staff on Banner Student sub-modules, as needed.
  • Create and maintain SQL scripts to provide and update system data.
  • Exhibit strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements, and the ability to translate complex technical problems into plain-English terms.
  • Assure compliance with established institutional and departmental policies, procedures and standards related to data integrity, financial aid regulations, and computer usage through the use of various reports.
  • Adhere to FERPA regulations as they pertain to maintaining the security and confidentiality of all student records, as well as maintain the confidentiality of other documents on behalf of the work area and the College.
  • Maintain sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with the mission, goals, and core values of the College.
  • Perform other duties and carry out other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • A minimum of three years of related experience with business applications required; preferably Ellucian Banner.
  • Demonstrated excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as a strong working knowledge of information technologies used in academia (preferably Banner).
  • Demonstrated analytical ability to identify, understand, analyze, and design unique and innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and developing technical training documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly present technical material to non-technical staff.
  • Ability to work with others to implement processes, services and data reporting requirements.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills in all media (phone, face-to-face, and email) required to effectively communicate with students, the general public, and College staff and faculty.
  • Ability to use independent judgment in making administrative/procedural decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver in a fast-paced environment, including the ability to manage own workload and resolve questions and problems independently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Higher education experience in an enrollment services function (such as admissions, registration, records maintenance, financial aid) with a primary focus on high quality service delivery preferred.
  • Experience in, and appreciation for, a collective bargaining environment is preferred.
