The successful candidate will join the AWS Environmental team, an expanding and dynamic team that is critical to enabling AWS's growth around the world, as well as ensuring compliance of AWS's global operations, including physical data centers, as well as other AWS facilities, customer-facing enterprises and products. The Environmental team has responsibility for building and implementing AWS's global environmental programs that drives and enable innovation using cutting edge technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning to make environmental management seamless, automated and easy for all. We are searching for a Program Manager to partner with internal teams in the field and corporate-levels to serve as the central technical resource to drive highest level of data center environmental management systems on behalf of our customers demand for ISO 14001 EMS (Environmental Management System). An EMS is a set of mechanisms, processes and technologies that collectively through data driven decisions, enable the Enviro Team, both in the field and programs, to systematically and continually, over time, reduce its environmental impacts and increase its program scalability throughout all data centers in the field, its operating effectiveness and efficiency. The successful candidate will have a results-oriented approach, strong analytical skill set, and proven ability to independently lead complex projects across multiple teams. You will be expected to represent the AWS Environmental team internally as well as to external groups, including vendors, customers, and policy makers. You will be responsible for developing, implementing and standardizing our EMS programs globally as well as developing metrics and reporting progress to internal stakeholders. The optimal candidate is a high-judgment, EMS subject matter expert with a proven track record of success building and improving EMS. This individual will focus on implementing programs that ensure we meet our regulatory and sustainability obligations globally while also driving continuous improvements in our EMS program.

Facilitate dialogue by asking productive questions and providing recommendations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• \tBachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related field.

• \t5+ years of experience serving as a regional and/or global environmental management systems technical resource managing complex environmental compliance initiatives and programs across functional teams, building processes that scale globally in a fast paced, growing organization including: compliance obligations, risk assessments, performance indicators, environmental controls, emergency preparedness and response plans, training, internal and external audits, environmental incidents, and continual improvements.

• \t2+ years of experience managing regionally distributed/dispersed teams

• \t2+ years of experience in managing field/site-level and multi-site level technical EMS and environmental compliance regionally

• \t2+ years of experience managing deployment and implementation of environmental management information systems (EMIS including e.g., artificial intelligence) and technology (i.e., Gensuite, AUSTIN, Salesforce, Enablon)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• \tMaster's degree in science, engineering or a related field

• \tExperience in regional and/or global EMS and compliance management in cloud-based infrastructure companies preferred

• \t8+ years of experience in multinational company EMS and compliance program development, deployment, implementation and verification.

• \t8+ years of experience in developing and maintaining multisite EMS.

• \t8+ years of experience developing and managing environmental management information systems (EMIS)

• \tExperience implementing lean principles and process improvements across multiple organizations and countries.

• \tExcellent communication skills, strong relationship builder, solid influencing and negotiation skills, and the ability to coach at multiple levels.
