This Event Manager will join the Career Professional Development office at a prestigious West Coast University in Los Angeles. They will oversee the end to end communications and planning for all events within the Career Professional Development office. Responsibilities include budget management, communication between employer partners, students, staff, and alumni as well as all event partners such as internal university conferences and events teams, photographers, caterers, staff across campus for event equipment etc. This person will interface with 20-30 people daily and will operate in a fast paced environment. On average there are about five to six large campus events per semester with weekly smaller events or virtual events. Tools this person will use include handshake, C-vent, Workday, Microsoft, and LinkedIn. They will be on site on campus 5 days per week about 80% of weeks with some hybrid flexibility in the summers and during periods of fewer events (20% of the time - which would be about two days remote). Core hours are 8-5 however during weeks or days with large events, this individual is expected to arrive early and leave late for their event, which could include some longer workdays closer to around ten hour days.

Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of event planning and event management in a fast-paced environment
- Experience managing an event budget
- Excellent soft skills: skilled at taking initiative, confidence, being proactive, excellent professional communication, creative with creating efficiency, technologically savvy with office tech and able to take and implement feedback
- Able to come in person 5 days per week to campus on the West side of LA

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Higher education or non-profit experience, particularly in a Learning and Development or Career Professional Development space - in particular planning or running events in such an office
- Passion for student affairs and events to support student career success
- Eagerness to operate in a fast-paced environment
