Department Summary

The mission of the Division of Student Affairs is to create solutions for a healthier community by fostering student success. There are 8 functional units within the Division of Student Affairs: Center for Student Life, Career Readiness Center, Center for Academic Performance, Office of Care and Civility, Testing and Evaluation Services, International Services, Office of Disability Access, and Student Assistance Resource Center.

Position Overview

The Executive Director, Student Success will plan, organize, manage and direct the daily operations of assigned programs; review, develop, implement and communicate policies and procedures to ensure compliance; conduct research, analyze data and prepare statistical reports to support and implement best practices; provide evaluation of related program needs and services; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years' of related experience within an institution of Higher Education; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Capable of fostering collaborative relationships; Ability to supervise and manage teams; Demonstrates executive management skills; Ability to tailor communication to various stakeholders and partners; Knowledge of student success and higher education frameworks and ability to apply this knowledge to daily work.

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: Doctoral Degree preferred; Leadership of teams and diverse service units in higher education; Management of budgets and resources in higher education.

Required License/Registration/Certifications

Job Duties:
  • Provide strategic leadership and administrative oversight in developing, enhancing and assessing services and programs that support student success - (Essential)
  • Responsible for the overall management, supervision, and operation of the combined functions of the Student Success areas, including the Career Readiness Center (career advising, interview preparation, employment fairs) , Center for Academic Performance (academic support, tutoring, writing support), Testing and Evaluation Services (coordination and management of course exams and evaluations), and Office of Disability Access (Accessibility-focused training/programs and events and provides management and oversight of academic accommodations) - (Essential)
  • Initiate opportunities to engage with academic departments and campus stakeholders to further enhance campus goals related to student success - (Essential)
  • Support academic partners and other key constituents in developing support strategies for student success - (Essential)
  • Assist with the design and delivery of learning and development opportunities to equip faculty and staff with strategies to better support the student community - (Essential)
  • Monitor and track national trends, student success data, and seek benchmarks to assess student success and efforts at the University - (Essential)
  • Provide leadership for the mapping of curricular support and integration as it relates to student success initiatives - (Essential)

M-F; 8am-5pm; some evenings and weekends may be required
