Job Description:
This position reports to the Chief Facilities Officer and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the facility's operations, maintenance, and repair activities. This role ensures that the facility operates smoothly, efficiently, and safely while meeting company standards and compliance requirements. The position will manage a team of 2-10 trades technicians, custodial and maintenance staff, coordinate with external vendors, and oversee facility projects. Day to day responsibilities would be assigning work orders, helping to complete work orders, and making sure they have been completed properly. The position will manage employee schedules to ensure there is coverage and prioritize issues that arise on campus. The finalist will be actively involved in making sure grounds care, snow removal, minor projects and emergencies are handled quickly and effectively. There should be a focus on fostering a positive work environment with open communication and a high standard of customer service.

The hiring range for this position is $66,706.00-$90,053.00. Salary will commensurate with competencies and experience The position is classified staff and as such is eligible for the benefits package offered by the Commonwealth of Virginia for state agencies. Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in facility management, project management, or a related field.
• Supervisory experience in facility management or trades is required.
• Experience applying facility management principles, including creating preventative maintenance plans, implementing repair and maintenance procedures, and actively managing complex building systems.
• Experience using computer-based systems, including email, electronic work order systems, and basic software applications.
• Physical ability to do manual labor
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects
• Valid Drivers License

Preferred Qualifications:

• Facility management certificates, such as the Certified Facility Manager (CFM), or equivalent certificate/license that demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of facility management principles and practices.
• Relevant OSHA certifications that indicate knowledge and adherence to safety regulations and best practices.
• Licensure in a professional trade, such (HVAC), electrical work, plumbing or other licensure that demonstrates relevant working skill and competence.
• A valid First Aid and CPR certification
• Fork Lift Certification
