Federal Work Study, Student Worker - Health & Public Safety Front Desk

Overview:

The Health and Public Safety Division is seeking a work-study student to serve as a Front Desk Student Assistant. Work study staff will assist the Executive Assistants with greeting and assisting students with navigating the various college online tools.

Duties:
  • Assist in greeting guests and answering phones.
  • Schedule appointments in Starfish.
  • Assist students with navigating the various college online tools including My Services, Blackboard, Surge Mail and Starfish.
  • Walk students to other areas of the college as needed, such as the Financial Aid or Registrar's office.
  • Assist with scanning, filing documents and files.
  • Retrieve mail and place mail in appropriate employee mailboxes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Excellent customer service and people skills.
  • Ability to problem solve with attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude and a team player.
  • Computer savvy.

Minimum Qualifications:

The hiring of student workers by Cincinnati State is premised on eligibility guidelines for federal work study employment: eligible applicants must be high school graduates or have attained a GED. Additionally, eligible applicants for work study positions at Cincinnati State must be at least 16 years of age on or before the date of hire. Eligible students must:
  • Have completed a FAFSA for the current school year.
  • Meet and continue to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
  • Be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Be an active student at Cincinnati State.

Hourly Pay: $14.00 per hour

Location: Clifton campus

Work Hours: Part-Time, no more than 20 hours per week Monday - Thursday between the hours of 9am and 4pm.

Students may not work during their scheduled class times.
