In partnership with people with disabilities, the DARS Division of Rehabilitation Services Division assists individuals with disabilities to make informed choices that will maximize their employment through coordinated service delivery. DRS staff will assist the Workforce Network to deliver quality workforce services to individuals with disabilities who want to work and employers seeking to hire them. In compliance with Federal, State and Agency policy and procedures works closely with all Counselors and/or Evaluators and in partnership with persons with physical, mental or emotional disabilities.

We are seeking a Fiscal Technician. This position is designated as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) and provides significant fiscal coordination and transacting, both client-centered and administrative, to support the delivery of vocational rehabilitative services to eligible persons with disabilities. Fiscal duties include reviewing invoices, using small purchase charge card for purchases, completing authorizations using Aware.

Additionally provides case management assistance to counselors providing comprehensive vocational rehabilitation services which result in employment and enhanced independent living. Performs a variety of clerical/administrative tasks to support office maintenance and operation.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have-

Knowledge/Experience -

Some training and/or experience with financial transactions, bookkeeping, procurement, accounts payable, and the processing of invoices. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with accounts receivable/payable, processing of invoices for prompt payment, and electronic filing. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in tracking expenses.

Working knowledge of routine office procedures and work task organization to maximize efficient execution of responsibilities and of Windows based software programs including Microsoft Office 365 to include Word, Excel, and Outlook or similar.

Skills/Abilities-

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from varying social and economic environments; to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Ability to interpret and apply established policies and procedures in the provision of services and to organize and manage multiple and sometimes unrelated responsibilities in a timely manner; to prioritize duties and exercise good judgement following established policy and procedures. Excellent communication and organization skills.Ability to understand and apply policy and procedures with state and agency payment process and record retention requirements and to review, monitor and ensure reconciliation of vendor payment transactions in a timely manner.

Additional Considerations

Experience with AWARE and Financial Management Systems such as FRATE, eVA, and Cardinal.
