Job Summary

International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) seeks a pre-professional graduate assistant to provide technological support for the unit. This position will assist ISSS staff with data management of information stored in the ISSS Portal (Terra Dotta software), including creating technical process documents for internal use, generating queries/reports, analyzing data, responding to basic inquiries, and updating ISSS requests and email templates to improve efficiency and flow. This position will also assist with data audits and housekeeping duties within the ISSS Portal to ensure the data is clean and updated across all platforms. The ISSS Graduate Assistant will create video content for the unit, update the ISSS website, and provide technical support for programming and events.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Assist with database management of the ISSS Portal
2. Assist with conducting regular housekeeping duties of data, including data downloads, document uploads, and initial review of requests for completeness and accuracy
3. Assist with creating/updating internal process documents as needed
4. Generate queries and reports utilizing the ISSS Portal analytics tool
5. Assist with updating ISSS requests and email templates and responding to basic inquiries
6. Conduct research, as needed, on various topics related to ISSS data/office functions
7. Create statistical reports and related graphic content for the unit
8. Provide weekly briefings and critical insights to senior ISSS staff regarding any noticeable data patterns of interest or process inefficiencies and ideas for improvement
9. Provide technical support during ISSS events.
10. Other duties as assigned.

Additional Information

This appointment is subject to the availability of funds. As a GA, you will be expected to adhere to the University Administrative Calendar and all expectations as set forth in the offer letter. Appointment renewal is subject to a satisfactory performance review and the availability of funding.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$1473 per month

2. Must be a degree-seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in the following:
- Accounting
- Mathematics
- Technology
- Information Systems
- Computer Science

Preferred Qualifications

1. Strong computer skills
2. Strong oral and written communication skills.
3. Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
4. Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task with limited supervisory oversight.
5. Ability to navigate multiple projects simultaneously.
6. Ability to work on campus during routine business hours.
7. Must adhere to confidentiality related to student, faculty, staff, and administrative issues, particularly around FERPA.

Work Hours

TBD. May require some evenings and weekend hours.

Illinois State University student employees are restricted to no more than 28 hours per week of on-campus employment for all positions held. International students are restricted by their visa status to no more than 20 hours per week of on-campus employment when the university is in session but may work up to 28 hours per week when the university is not in session.
