Job Summary

The University College Graduate Assistant in Retention supports and assists in coordinating student outreach efforts related to improving retention and graduation rates. This position will utilize campus advisement and degree requirement tools to identify students for intervention and follow up.

Additional Information

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and work with students who left the University without completing their degree.
- Assist with the coordination of student outreach campaigns for interim grades and course registration.
- Assist with managing the Redbird Care Team referrals assigned to University College staff for follow up.
- Contribute to other Retention area efforts as needed including: supporting the Probation, Dismissal and Academic Reinstatement process, supporting Project Success and Project Rebound, and supporting University College Assessment efforts as needed.
- Demonstrate support for a diverse, equitable, and inclusive Academic Advising and Student Support programs.
- Serve as a University College staff member, participating in regular staff meetings, training, required professional development sessions, department events, and supporting office functions.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$1473 Monthly Stipend

Required Qualifications

1. Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook which can be found at http://hr.illinoisstate.edu/downloads/GA_Handbook.pdf
2. Must be a degree seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in Economics, College Student Personnel Administration, Educational Admin and Foundations, MBA, Mathematics, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work.

Illinois State University student employees are restricted to no more than 28 hours per week of on-campus employment for all positions held. International students are restricted by their visa status to no more than 20 hours per week of on-campus employment when the university is in session but may work up to 28 hours per week when the university is not in session.
