Description
MAIN FUNCTION:
Coordinates practice-wide operational services including daily staffing plans, employee supervision and inter-departmental communication. Assists with policy and procedure development, implementation, and review. Assists with problem and conflict resolution with patients, physicians/providers and staff. Reports to the Arnot Director of Endoscopy/AMS Gastroenterology Practice Manager (a combined role) and in that person's absence, confers/reports to the AMS Director of Operations - Medical Specialties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
** 1. Coordinates and assigns duties to staff and prepares daily work schedules, and staffing adjustments including covering vacations or call-offs to ensure efficient office operations.
** 2. Completes performance evaluations, disciplinary documentation, etc. for office staff with assistance of the Arnot Director of Endoscopy/AMS Practice Manager and Human Resources Business Partner as needed.
** 4. Assists with coordination and implementation of plans for training new office staff.
** 5. Approves timecards and submits payroll.
** 6. Approves and submits purchasing requisitions.
** 7. Identifies, mediates, and resolves problems for physicians/providers, patients, and staff with assistance from the Director(s) as needed.
** 9. Assigns duties and makes staffing adjustments to ensure efficient office operation. .
** 11. Coordinates and ensures team participation and compliance with various quality initiatives including, but not limited to, PQRS, MU and patient experience.
** 20. Oversees and Monitors activities related to Fibroscan:
EDUCATION:
RN licensure required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire date.
EXPERIENCE:
RN training with medical office experience or equivalent and comparable hospital or other medical institutional experience is required. Demonstrated managerial skills including personnel administration and supervision, training, and other medical related skills is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Light physical effort. Typical office job. Frequently lifting 10 lbs.; Occasionally lifting 25 lbs.

- Participates in interview process of prospective new staff and provides recommendations to the Director of Endoscopy/Practice Manager.
** 4. Assists with coordination and implementation of plans for training new office staff.
** 5. Approves timecards and submits payroll.
** 6. Approves and submits purchasing requisitions.
** 7. Identifies, mediates, and resolves problems for physicians/providers, patients, and staff with assistance from the Director(s) as needed.
- Coordinates and participates in regular office staff meetings as needed.
** 9. Assigns duties and makes staffing adjustments to ensure efficient office operation. .
- Assists with compliance and staff education regarding office policies, procedures, accreditation requirements and other standards.
** 11. Coordinates and ensures team participation and compliance with various quality initiatives including, but not limited to, PQRS, MU and patient experience.
- Actively involved and responsible for the patient experience and quality initiatives as assigned by the organization. Leads patient experience within assigned office.
- Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as required for efficient operation of the office, including, but not limited to the following:
- Prior Authorizations
- Triage
- Patient Education including teaching for infusions (some events billable)
- Injections and infusions as appropriate for the office setting
- Rooming patients
- Coverage of non-clinical functions in significant short-staffing situations
** 20. Oversees and Monitors activities related to Fibroscan:
- Provides liaison with Echosens (or the vendor at that time)
- Assures staff/Providers are properly trained to operate equipment
- Assures schedule is maintained for studies and operators are available
- May as training is available, obtain certification to perform studies 15.
- Is responsible for attending all annual mandatory educational programs as required by position.
