Duties and Responsibilities:


The position would involve work in several areas and would include the following responsibilities, as well as other duties as assigned.

Theatre Production and Event Programming, Seton Hall Theatre and College Events
*Support Director of Production/Facilities in the technical production and supervision of use in the University Center Theatre space and its production workshop.
*Tasks related to the planning and assisting onsite for events scheduled in the College's production spaces (Theatre, TV Studio, University Center gallery/media studios, etc).
*As needed, on-site technical support and space access during events for University departments and organizations; this may include external use of the facility, as in rentals.
*Assist with supervisory tasks related to Seton Hall Theatre program productions and Theatre Council, including technical projects and on-site support at events.
*House Management duties; Assisting with audience services and helping patrons at events.
*Writing, designing and producing printed and/or virtual QR-code Theatre event programs.

Arts Management (Publicity/Marketing) / Arts Council
*Assist in the planning and implementation of publicity and marketing for events and programming with the affiliated units under the Arts Council umbrella (Seton Hall Theatre, Music, Classical Concert Series, Jazz n' the Hall.
*Provide cyclical, season updates to Arts Council affiliated units web pages.
*Assist in the production of marketing campaigns for Arts and production programs, such as with press releases and social media coverage planning .
*Writing, designing and producing printed and/or virtual QR-code event programs.
*Assisting with tasks related to the Seton Hall University programming partnership with South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC).

Production Facilities (WSOU 89.5, TV Studio spaces, Theatre, etc)
*General assistance in the operation of Production Facilities within the College and their related scheduling and programming.
*Assist Director of Production/Facilities with on-site support at Production Facilities to allow student access to spaces and help enforce their strict facility protocols.

Requirements and Desired skills
*Ideal candidate would have an interest and work and/or academic training in areas of Production, Theatre, PR/Marketing, Media, Arts Management.
*Position would require some flexibility with occasional to regular evening and weekend requirements for events (scheduled in advance with reasonable notice to plan).
*Exemplary writing competence and skills.
*Graphic design and related proficiency with creative software such as elements of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Publisher.
*Attention to detail.



Required Qualifications:


*Acceptance into a graduate-level program at Seton Hall University. Applicants must be new to their graduate program or have at least two years of coursework remaining.
*Understanding and willingness to support the Seton Hall University Catholic mission.
*Maintain 20-hour on-campus weekly work schedule. Specific schedule is coordinated with graduate assistant's supervisor and is subject to change, with advance notice. On occasion, participation in night and weekend activities may be required.

Desired Qualifications:

*Priority will be given to students accepted into a graduate program within the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media.
*Ideal candidates will have strong initiative, a superior work ethic, work independently with minimal supervision, ability to work collaboratively, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
*Professionally represent both the College and Graduate Studies in all communication, including telephone, in-person, and email correspondence.
