Description

Responsible for the administration of graduate student program recruitment, admissions, academic advising, and student retention. May supervise staff and student workers.
  1. Develops and administers graduate student programs and processes including recruitment efforts, admission processes, academic advising, and student retention.
  2. Develops and implements marketing and recruitment strategies to attract and retain qualified graduate students.
  3. Counsels students and faculty members in areas such as recruitment, admission, academics, progress towards degree, completion rates, professional development, and career preparation.
  4. Administers, interprets, and communicates policies and procedures to students, faculty, and staff.
  5. Develops collaborative partnerships with internal units and external constituents, including community colleges, school districts, and business/industrial groups.
  6. Reviews and evaluates graduate program effectiveness, prepares reports, and makes recommendations as needed.
  7. Serves as Graduate School liaison to faculty, administrators, and students.
  8. Administers scholarship and fellowship programs and processes.
  9. Reviews graduate program budgets and makes decisions on appropriate expenditures.
  10. May provide training sessions and presentations to graduate students. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Qualifications

Bachelors and 3 years experience

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
