UAB Medicine Health Information System (UAB HSIS) is seeking to fill our Technical Project Manager (TPM) II - Enterprise Infrastructure position. As a contributing member of the Infrastructure team, you will play a critical role in the management, coordination, and communication for IT Infrastructure related projects. The TPM II - EI will support cross discipline infrastructure initiatives in the Server, Network, Directory Services, Shared Storage, Cloud Services and Multichannel Communication domains

Compensation:
Pay Range: $63,875 - $103,800/year

Duties

To oversee a small project or phases of a larger project. To coordinate activities of project team, identify appropriate resources needed, and develop schedules to ensure timely completion of project. To be aware of system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the team. To report to a more senior project manager.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Information Technology Leadership and other cross functional IT Infrastructure support teams in the management, coordination, and communication related functions for Infrastructure project and initiatives.

• Collaborate closely with Information Technology teams to develop and manage project plans, project teams, task lists, and timelines. Document project details, scope, goals, deliverables. Track overall project progress, identify risks, and provide regular updates.

• Manage and coordinate all project phases. Conduct and lead regular project meetings to review project deliverables, milestones and to identify project risks.

• Define, organize, and prioritize project components. Create and maintain all timelines and details related to projects. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path work tasks.

• Document requirements to deliver projects including implementation of solutions. Work with managers to identify project participants and roles.

• Coordinate and oversee the efforts of all participants while identifying potential issues. Work with leadership to ensure work assignments of internal and external resources meet project timeline objectives.

• Provide department leadership with project status reporting and reviews.

• Coordinates project-related tasks between IT groups for defined and undefined workflows and ensures proper documentation requests are provided and monitored.

• Coordinate and communicate with end users and hospital department leadership/supervisors for downtimes, area access, and maintenance windows.

• Collect and analyze project related data to measure project deliverables and outcomes.

• Develop business relationships and integrating activities with other IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts.

• Foster and maintain good relationships with customers and IT colleagues to meet expected project deliverables.

• Effectively communicates project status readouts to leadership and stakeholders.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Project certification with IT Infrastructure Project Management experience preferred.

• 4 years of experience with medium to large projects involving IT Infrastructure technologies such as Cloud, Network, Telecom, Server Virtualization, Shared Storage and Hospital Communication Systems.

• 3 years hands-on IT Infrastructure Project Management in a hospital environment.

• Experience with Citrix, VMware, Cloud DR, and Wi-Fi projects a plus.

• Office 365 email migrations and Vocera integration project experience a plus.

• Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, including a proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment.

• Proven ability to coordinate project resources and timelines while managing competing priorities.

• Strong leadership skills including conflict/issue resolution.

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written with customers, stakeholders, and leadership.

• Ability to work effectively with project resources across multiple departments.

• Advanced experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

• Enterprise ticketing system (Cherwell) experience a plus.

• Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and competing resources.

• Demonstrated expertise in creating concise project reports for executive leadership.

• Experience in documenting, project plans, timelines, resource tracking and schedules.

• Knowledge of clinical organization workflows and processes.

• Ability to analyze processes, gaps, resolutions, and share lessons learned.

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls; and talk or hear.

• Ability to work project implementations during off hours and weekends as required.
