SVP is looking for a motivated Preconstruction Project Manager to join our rapidly growing team in Birmingham, Alabama. The Preconstruction Project Manager will be an important member of the growing Real Estate Development team, responsible for supporting a wide-range of real estate and construction projects for SVP's 400+ hospital portfolio. Responsibilities
- Project Planning: Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop project scope, budget and schedule for veterinary facility build-out projects.
- Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and cost control measures to ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints.
- Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, including milestones and timelines, to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Bidding: Identify, select and manage potential General Contractor vendors to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
- Permitting and Approvals: Coordinate with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals for construction projects.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure that construction projects meet industry standards and client expectations.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and industry standards to maintain a safe work environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in preconstruction project management, preferably in the veterinary or healthcare construction sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, building codes and regulations.
- Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, permitting and resource management.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
