PROGRAM MANAGER II
The University of Alabama at Birmingham

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Project Manager II for the Office of Advancement. This position will oversee a broad range of project management and development functions for the Central Development Office, the Office of the Provost, and the Office of Student Affairs. This position will work with key advancement and university staff to identify giving opportunities and manage projects that will generate gifts from alumni, students, parents, and faculty to support scholarships, study abroad, undergraduate research, and other philanthropic priorities.

This person must also be able to function as an integral part of a team that designs and implements successful fundraising programs that include annual giving, planned giving, and major gifts to maximize private gift support.

This position will report to the Senior Director of Development and will work closely with the Office of the Provost and the Office of Student Affairs.

This position is hybrid-eligible after the probationary period.

Key Duties and Primary Responsibilities:
  • Oversees comprehensive university-wide scholarship match programs and other scholarship initiatives targeted at alumni and parents
  • Responsible for developing and implementing annual giving initiatives and special projects that support the Office of the Provost and the Office of Student Affairs including parent and family programs
  • Works closely with the Office of Provost and the Office of Student Affairs to oversee donor and prospect correspondence and coordinate donor and alumni stewardship
  • Works with other members of University staff to identify and create processes for tracking and inputting data on university constituents into CRM system
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with varying levels of leadership and staff
  • Proven track record of strategic thinking and decision-making
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple departments to achieve a common goal
  • Critical and analytical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications


Annual Salary: $52,555 -- $60,000

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Communications, Marketing, or closely related field
  • Five years of project management or fundraising/development experience
  • Must have strong organizational, project management, communication, and researching skills

Preferred Additional Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in higher education
