Pay

This position is a Temporary non exempt position at pay grade 103.

Attendance

Non-rotating 40-hour work schedule, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. May be asked to work additional hours as needed.

Overview:

The Intern - College in Finance will work closely with the Finance and Procurement department, gaining hands-on experience in financial analysis, budgeting, accounting, and vendor management. This role offers a unique chance to apply academic knowledge in a real-world setting, working on projects that directly impact the organization. This position will assist the financial reporting, budgeting, and vendor negotiations while developing essential skills in data analysis, strategic thinking, and communication. This is an excellent opportunity to bridge the gap between theory and practice in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including budgets, accounting, forecasts, and variance analysis

• Help manage and track purchase orders, invoices, and payment processing

• Assist in market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and industry trends

• Provide support to various departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data reporting

• Help with cross-functional projects aimed at improving efficiency and reducing costs

• Assist in maintaining and organizing financial and procurement documentation

• Assist in auditing and compliance activities as needed

• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

•Must be currently enrolled in College

•No prior experience is required

•Proof of Automobile Liability Insurance

•A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
