Pay

This position is a Temporary non exempt position at pay grade 103.

Attendance

Non-rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Overview

The Intern - College will provide support and assistance to the Executive Staff and Administrative Manager in the Public Works Administrative Department.

Responsibilities

•Assist the Director and Assistant Directors as needed

•Schedule department meetings, compose and edit correspondence, email, and departmental communication

•Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers via email, telephone, fax, text, memorandum, and letter

•Research, compose, prepare (type), and edit correspondence and reports

•Attend meetings, note taking, and report back to leadership as needed

•Copy, scan and routes time sensitive documents for review and approval from Executive management

•Maintain supplies and inventory and assist in creating purchase orders, requisitions, and process invoices

•May be asked to perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Student currently enrolled in a College/ University

• No prior experience required

• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
