Position Summary

Manage Terry College infrastructure services including:
  • Physical and Virtual Servers
  • Directory Services Management
  • Storage Management
  • IT Security for On-Premises and Cloud Infrastructure
  • Cloud Service (AWS and various) Management
  • Cloud and On-Premises Backups and Restores software distribution and metering
  • Problem, change, and availability management


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
  • A strong ethic of customer service.
  • Significant supervisory experience involving the management of technical personnel.
  • Demonstrated skill in consensus management, including successful interactions with diverse groups both within and outside of IT.
  • Additionally, significant project management experience is required in order to successfully complete projects.

Operations Management
  • Supervise the design, maintenance, and configuration of all Terry servers and shared file systems.
  • Manage the security of critical cloud and on-prem servers.
  • Assure policy compliance for the handling and processing of all shared and NDA data.
  • Manage OITs technical and process documentation.
  • Manage and design multi-factor authentication compliance.
  • Present complex technical objectives and plans to College leadership.
  • Represent Terry to IT infrastructure and software suppliers.

Research and implement new technologies and configurations to enhance the service, support, and capabilities of Terry College
  • Manage research computing and HPC access with GACRC.
  • Design and migrate to a cost-effective hybrid infrastructure.
  • Design and maintain authentication and authorization to cloud services like SalesForce.

Strategic/Operational Planning & Management
  • Active participation in the creation of the strategic plan for OIT.
  • Formulate storage and compute strategy for the College.
  • Work with peers to plan student technology fee allocations including investments in new technology/services and refreshing existing technology infrastructure.

  • Provide work direction for the infrastructure team and opportunities for career development.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and prepare training development plans
  • Identifies and facilitates opportunities for collaboration between Service Desk, Teir 2, and Infrastructure Team.
  • Identifies and coordinates security and disaster training exercises between teams.
