Strategic Staffing Solutions is currently looking for an IT Project Manager for a contract opportunity with one of our largest clients located in St. Petersburg, FL!

Title: IT Project Manager (Telecom)

Location: St. Petersburg, FL (Hybrid schedule)

Duration: 12+ Months

Role Type: W2 contract engagement

Job Description:

Selected individual will manage the telecom part of projects for transmission, generation, real estate, and regional IT enterprise projects. Projects will be smaller in scope and PM will manage about sixty open projects. Documentation in JIRA of all communications with the business is required. PM will also work with internal telecom and field teams to schedule and complete work by agreed upon business due dates. Short weekly updates will be provided to a group of sixty individuals on status of work for the next two to four weeks.

Site visits to customer kickoff meetings will be occasionally required.

Expectation of selected PM will be to learn the environment and working knowledge of the product telecom produces for the internal business customer. PM will work closing with two product owners for successes, questions, and challenges.

Requirements:

• Must have good project management background (not entry level).
• Must be able to work on their own with little supervision.
• Must attend staff meeting, in office, on Tuesday morning. (St. Petersburg, FL)
• Ability to manage and report on budgets for all projects under PM control.
• A valid driver's license.

Desired:

• Background in telecom or IT industry.
• Experience with software packages:
  • Microsoft Office/Outlook/Teams
  • JIRA
  • Primavera / P6
  • Business Objects
• Holding and attending many meetings. Good note taking skills.
• Good verbal communication.
• Experience with the following telecom disciplines:
  • Data - switches/routers
  • Transport gear - Ciena / SEL ICON
  • RF - Cambium and point two-point microwave
  • Power - DC power -48vdc and 130vdc
  • Fiber - construction and terminations on single mode
