Summary

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (POLICY AND PLANNING/ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE), Position Description Number T6333000 and is part of the 224 ADG, National Guard.

Duties

It Specialist (Policy and Planning/Enterprise Architecture), GS-2210-11, you will serve as a Senior technical advisor to local installation information technology (IT) users in the area of policy and plan, Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) and mission assurance as related to IT systems. Serves as a member of the Sector's Cyber Incident Response Team responsible for assuring the availability of National Defense mission systems. Also, assists in enhancing cyberspace capabilities to defend national interests from attack and to create effects in the cyberspace domain to achieve national objectives.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, and/or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistance, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaption of computer programs and systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience to at least the next lower grade. Experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applicant area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptions of guidance pr precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in logical fashion. Must have knowledge of a wide range of IT principles, concepts, methods, advancements, policies, design, development, testing and applications, both hardware and software sufficient to assess the organization's IT business requirements. Must have f configuration management methods and techniques for integrating information system components sufficient to install and maintain software and hardware, optimize functionality of systems, and diagnose and recover failed systems.

Education

If you are using Education to qualify for this position, Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

In accordance with DoD 8570, Mandatory Certification of "GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC)" and/or "Certified Information System Security Professional" (CISSP), or equivalent DoD 8570 Management Level II certification is required. If Certification is not held, must obtain within six months from initial hiring. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position
