Why does the job exist?

This position will provide problem assessment, resolution, and troubleshoot user problems. Employees work with local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), a variety of Data and Voice telecommunications systems and all other computer related networking technologies. Employees in this role perform specialized procedures such as complex system fault isolation development of technical procedures and practices, conduct extended problem diagnostics, resolve all issues, document problem and resolution. Employees configure and install new desktop hardware.

How does it get done?

Determine the correct scripted troubleshooting resolution to follow for a given situation.
Provide standard technical support to supported users.
Assist users in the use of complex computer systems.
Maintain a Service Desk to provide problem assessment, resolution, and troubleshoot user problems.
Work with local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), a variety of Data and Voice telecommunications systems and all other computer related networking technologies.
Maintain System Network and system(s) access for all functions.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in systems administration. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements

Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Must possess & maintain a current & valid New Mexico driver's license.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive phone and personal computer usage. Direct client interaction and some travel may be required. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
