Job Summary:

This entry-level position will work with others in the Cramer lab to study the drivers of aggressive prostate cancer using cell and molecular biology techniques in tissue culture and animal models. Learn basic and advanced laboratory skills in tissue culture techniques, gene editing, genomics and genetics, and biochemistry. A major focus of the lab is how mutations in prostate cancer affect how prostate cells respond to hormones that drive tumor formation and aggressiveness.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis


Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Master's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field
  • Prior experience or background of cancer biology
  • Prior experience or background within an experimental or wet lab


Competencies:

  • Knowledge of cell and molecular biology
  • Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels

  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $ $45,000- $57,420.

The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
