SUMMARY
As a Maintenance Technician, you will provide comprehensive mechanical and electrical support for production equipment, including implementing design changes and performing preventative maintenance. You will troubleshoot using PLC methods, make minor programming adjustments, and ensure strong safety practices while collaborating with operations and engineering teams to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency. Your role also involves physical tasks, maintaining a clean workspace, and delivering excellent customer service.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide mechanical and electrical support of production equipment and processes.
  • Implement mechanical additions, modifications, design changes, and retrofit of machine parts to existing equipment.
  • Proactive equipment preventative maintenance.
  • Read schematics, wiring diagrams and prints.
  • Provide and suggest reliability-based equipment improvements.
  • Grind, sharpen, clean, measure and organize tooling.
  • Ability to use PLC based troubleshooting methods to diagnose problems.
  • Minor programming changes across Allen Bradley Product lines - PLC's, Drives, HMI's, etc.
  • Support, understand, and work with Ethernet IP addresses in a production environment.
  • Strong safety awareness - lock out/tag out, right-to-know, arc flash, machine guarding, procedures, etc.
  • Interface with operations personnel, engineering and others and make quality decisions based on that input.
  • Document and provide engineering with information/feedback of machine revisions and to update machine prints.
  • Provide a high level of customer service.
  • Able to successfully deal with change.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good organizational skills, communication skills and strong customer focus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Support, understand and report unsafe conditions, accidents or injuries per Andersen's safety policy.
  • Ability to understand job related functions, safety and quality requirements.
  • Role includes physical activity to include heavy lifting, climbing ladders, heights, etc.
  • Ensure workspace is clean, safe and organized following 5S standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods of time


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary school education relevant to a technical trade is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of on-the-job mechanical & electrical experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical, technical aptitude with a demonstrated creativity to be able to devise jigs and fixtures.
  • Experience installing, modifying, and troubleshooting electronic components and circuits.
  • Experience installing, modifying, and troubleshooting pneumatic components and air logic.
  • Metal working experience with mills, lathes, welders, and plasma cutters.
  • Ability to recognize safety issues and recommend solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects from initial requests to implementation in a timely manner.
  • Proven strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work well independently and as a member of a team.
  • Good, positive attitude with the ability to interact effectively with other departments to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Strong communication skills - ability to interface with all levels of personnel in the facility.

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
