Your Role

The Maintenance Technician 3 - 2nd shift will maintain and install equipment, facilities, and utility systems. In addition, provide leadership, expertise, and training to other department members. Job duties include:
  • 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:30pm - 11:00pm
  • Must be available for weekend and holiday on-call and after-hours duty
  • Must be able to work independently on a variety of shifts and participation in the call-in program
  • Available for work related travel and must have a valid driver's license for work related travel
  • Occasional travel and valid driver's license
  • Responsible for independently completing assigned work orders (P.M. tasks)
  • Corrective and Preventive Maintenance of equipment, facilities, and other utility systems
  • Successful completion of required training curriculum
  • Shows dignity, respect while performing duties and contributes to department goals
  • Identifies unsafe work conditions, reports and follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Excellent organizational skills and 5S skills and follows good documentation practices
  • Utilizes the Management of Change Process and Non-Conformance Report for changes.
  • Read, write clear, understand, and follow work instructions, procedures, and drawings/schematics
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, install and repair electrical/HVAC/mechanical related problems, instrumentation, equipment, and/or systems
  • Assist with process improvement, miscellaneous duties and other tasks as assigned
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, basic shop tools (grinder, drill press, sand blaster, band saw, etc.), and forklift/man lift.
  • Utilize hoists, rigging equipment, troubleshoot and repair packaging equipment.
  • Utilize precision measuring, electrical testing, calibration, and recovery equipment
  • Utilizes the Management of Change Process and Non-Conformance Report for changes.
  • Reference NEC code book and NFPA, thorough and meticulous update files and paperwork
  • Read gauges, understand units of measure, and identify parts needed for a repair.
  • Perform boiler water, cooling tower chemistry tests, preventive and corrective maintenance on boilers.
  • Guide and direct contractors and other technicians in completing work
  • Use precision measuring equipment, understand materials of construction and chemical compatibility
  • Leadership ability to assist with directing contractors and other technicians in completing work.
  • Ability to make decisions and resolve problems through analyzing alternative, evaluating risks, etc.
  • Participate with department audits and work with engineering department
  • Exemplary attendance and adherence to schedule


Physical Attributes:
  • Occasionally lift 50 pounds unassisted and additional weight with assistance
  • Walk long distances and be able to stay on your feet for eight hours
  • Regularly sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawl for long periods of time
  • Use hands and feet to operate equipment
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, and sources of electrical shock, vibrations, fumes, and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals for which protective equipment and procedures must be used.
  • Workplace noise level is loud, occasionally very loud.
  • Occasionally wear hard hat, safety shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, protective gloves, respirator, and face shield
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus needed


Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • 2 + years of experience in HVAC, electrical/instrumentation, and/or mechanical (i.e., Boiler Operator's)


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 + years of experience in HVAC, electrical/instrumentation, and/or mechanical (i.e., Boiler Operator's)
  • Excellent leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivation and high efficiency skills
  • Follows good documentation practices
  • Knowledgeable in the testing, operation, and repair of fire protection systems.
  • Proficiency with computers and experience with MS office and SAP
