Maintenance Technician

POSITION PURPOSE:

To repair and maintain hotel equipment and building systems to provide a safe and comfortable environment for guests and employees. To answer guest complaints and communicate with guests and associates.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Provide great service while assisting hotel guests with maintenance issues such as minor heating/cooling concerns, plumbing problems, internet/TV connectivity, etc. Prioritize guest requests and repair items as needed.
• Conduct daily inspections of hotel (Light fixtures, carpeting, general maintenance, and repairs as needed.)
• Do general maintenance outside of hotel (Landscaping, shoveling, light fixtures, and repair as needed.)
• Inspect swimming pool area daily (Chemical levels, temperature, pumps, and cleanliness.)
• Be available by radio to answer emergency calls promptly.
• Inspect fire alarms/ fire extinguishers regularly. Respond to all alarms when on property in order to determine the cause, and react accordingly.
• Work closely with front desk and housekeeping associates on daily tasks and special projects.
• Communicate professionally & effectively with other associates, guests and vendors.
• Conduct safe and careful use of equipment.
• Use materials and equipment appropriately to avoid waste and unnecessary repairs.
• Create and maintain a safe work environment.
• Other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Previous experience with general repair preferred
• Ability to use all general repair tools
• Ability to use ladders and lift heavy items
• Ability to read simple drawings and specifications Must be able to perform basic math
• High School education or equivalent.
• Must be able to clearly communicate in English
