Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Technician for a contract opportunity in Santa Clara, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Sub & system level assembly, build & functionality verification testing and advanced troubleshooting of highly customized control systems.
• Advanced programing, upgrading and reworking of major subsystems.
• Works closely with supporting teams in Integration, Validation, Quality, Logistics, and Engineering to ensure compliance with quality, waste, and efficiency requirements.
• Perform in-process Quality Control inspections on system configurations, BOMs, controller layout and wiring schematics, product travelers, and workmanship standards.
• Develop into SME (Subject Matter Expert) in system-level configurations, troubleshooting and support training activities.
• Support NPI (New Product Introduction) build and testing activities.
• Perform additional product related assemblies, testing and job-related duties as required.

HARD REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing technician role.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Prior experience with 6S manufacturing practices is preferred.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies is desired.
• Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in both team environments and independently.
• Proficient in basic computer setup, navigation, and keyboarding and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking is common as technicians often need to move around machinery and workstations.
• Ability to lift and carry objects, often up to 25 pounds to 30 pounds unassisted. This includes handling raw materials, tools, and finished products. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move products.
• Manual Dexterity - Good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity and fine motor skills are necessary for operating machinery, assembling parts, and performing precise tasks with small components, tools and equipment.
• Capability to perform repetitive tasks with precision and attention to detail.
• Physical endurance to work in potentially strenuous conditions, such as standing for long periods or performing repetitive motions throughout the shift.
• Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and crawling may be required to access and repair machinery or to perform maintenance tasks.
• Ability to push and pull carts, machinery components, and other equipment as needed.
• Occasional climbing of ladders or stairs to access elevated areas or equipment.
• Good vision with or without corrective lenses, to read small print, blueprints, schematics, diagrams, for performing detailed work and to inspect products for quality.
• Good hearing to detect alarms, machinery sounds, and verbal instructions in a noisy environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Ability to perform duties, while working with inert gases and voltage up to 480VAC.
• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma or GED

DESIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited AS Electronics degree or a relevant technical trade school diploma or training.
