Manufacturing Test Engineer is responsible for manufacturing, integration, and testing a wide range of products and systems. Responsibilities include coordinating with the design team to determine test parameters, producing test documentation, troubleshooting, and performing quality assurance procedures. A manufacturing test engineer must also assess the existing test procedures to identify its strengths and weaknesses, implementing solutions as needed. Furthermore, they may assist the quality assurance teams in conducting tests, all while enforcing the company's policies and regulations. Develops manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes. Actively participates with engineering project teams in order to coordinate the release of new products. Estimates and tracks manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

Essential Functions:

Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to define test strategies and fixtures.

Contribute to test execution, documentation and analysis of results.

Design and construct electrical test stations per test specifications for testing electronic assemblies.

Debugging production test stations and implement and maintain test equipment for production lines.

Support the Product Development Team to meet schedule, quality and cost expectations.

Work with Operations, Engineering, Quality and other support staff to develop and implement improvements related to production flow including test time reduction and quality improvements.

Support the operations strategic plan and maintain its alignment to the overall program strategic plan.

Interface with other Operations leaders as well as cross functional/ cross departmental teams.

Provide operations cost estimates for proposals and maintain accountability for meeting the estimates.

Skills/Experience:

Qualifications:

Requires proficient knowledge of job area.

Bachelors Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience with manufacturing test measurements - experience with voltage, current, power analyzers.

Familiarity with test fixture design and implementation.

Experience with3D modelling and 3D printing a plus.

Team player with good communication skills and the ability to train less experienced team members.

Ability to debug from system down to component level. Should be able to understand schematics and be comfortable using common lab equipment such as: DMM, Scopes, Logic analyzers, PSUs, Signal generators, etc.

Strong CAD and mechanical fabrication skills

Develop dashboards to visualization and communicate key metrics

Previous experience in defense contracting.

Knowledge of lean techniques may be advantageous
