Job Description

The Marketing Manager will assist the Associate Mizzou Marketing Director in leading campus-wide marketing efforts by managing department relationships across the university to ensure consistent and effective online marketing strategy is being employed and marketing needs are being met. The Marketing Manager will use available performance and industry data to assist with creating strategic direction for all marketing efforts and will manage various agency and vendor relationships as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Associate Director in leading long-term planning efforts, including brand management, marketing strategy and campaign planning
  • Guide short-term strategic planning efforts, including connecting with other departments within the division and university-wide to create marketing plans. Work with project manager to assign tasks and deadlines.
  • Work with Associate Director, Creative Director and Digital Marketing Manager to use data and metrics to drive creative strategy and decision-making. Assist with development of institutional marketing strategies optimized for publication on a variety of channels, including web, social and traditional.
  • Lead special projects as assigned by Associate Director.
  • Assist in the planning and management of Mizzou Online ad spend and operational budget.
  • Manage designated agency and vendor relationships as projects and strategies dictate.
  • Keep current on best practices in higher education, particularly in the areas of marketing, public relations, social media, crisis management and communications.


Shift

M-F; 8am - 5pm - Regular business hours with a few nights or weekends for events as needed

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors in marketing, communications or a related field. 2 years experience in higher education field is preferred

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000/year

Grade: GGS-11
