The Kansas City Chiefs are seeking a dynamic and innovative Sr. Manager of Cause and Culture to lead our cause and community marketing initiatives, drive cultural relevance, and amplify our brand presence in alignment with our target fanbase. This highly creative position will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's impact on society, fostering community engagement, and leveraging cultural moments and trends to deepen connections with our fans. We're looking for a passionate self-starter, that doesn't solely rely on outside agencies to develop their marketing plans, but can build strategy, creative campaigns, and organizational excitement to drive impact for the brand. Responsibilities:
- Cause and Community Marketing:
- Develop and execute comprehensive cause marketing strategies aligned with the organization's values and community priorities.
- Cultivate internal partnerships with our community outreach team that leads the outreach and activations. This role supports this team to build marketing plans and amplification of those initiatives and programs.
- Culture Marketing:
- Stay abreast of cultural trends, events, and movements to identify opportunities for brand engagement and relevance.
- Develop and implement culturally resonant marketing campaigns that authentically connect with diverse audiences. (Ie. Hispanic Heritage Month, Women in Football)
- Leverage cultural insights to inform content creation, social media strategies, and fan engagement efforts.
- Athlete Marketing:
- Works closely with PR and Player Engagement to deliver value through programming for our players, brand and fans.
- Maximizes consumer impact and media outcomes with relevant and authentic storytelling through deep knowledge of brand goals and individual player aspirations and strengths.
- Develop and bring to life mutually beneficial programming that enhances both the player and brand's reputation.
- Influencer Marketing:
- Help and coach a direct report to build an influencer strategy, identify and engage with talent and content creators who align with the Chiefs' values and target demographics.
- Oversee the development of collaborative partnerships and campaigns to expand the team's reach and relevance across digital platforms.
- Support direct report in the measurement and analyze the effectiveness of influencer marketing efforts to optimize future strategies and activations.
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual marketing plans that integrate cause, culture, athlete, and influencer marketing initiatives.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and fan insights to adapt strategies and tactics accordingly.
- Track and report on key performance metrics to assess the impact and ROI of marketing efforts.
- Team Management:
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to a team of two marketing professionals.
- Delegate tasks, set clear objectives, and provide ongoing feedback to support professional growth and development.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages creativity, innovation, and accountability.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on cause marketing, community engagement, athlete marketing or cultural branding.
- Demonstrated experience in team management, including hiring, coaching, and performance evaluation.
- Strong understanding of social responsibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry.
- Experience of working effectively with both outside agencies and internal marketing teams.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results under tight deadlines.
