The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia seeks an experienced Marketing/Communications Photo/Video Manager to provide creative audiovisual, photo and video support, and guidance to a wide range of projects affiliated with the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy.

The Photo/Video Manager will oversee responsibility for the School's marketing and communications photo and video needs. This will include attending presentation meetings to determine what photo/video needs are required, setting up and executing photo and video shoots, video editing, and maintaining the department's photo/video repository. The position involves working with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of each project.

Additionally, the Photo/Video Manager will:
  • Establish and execute ongoing photo/video sessions to provide visual elements for marketing collateral.
  • Maintain the department's photo/video repository with accurate tagging so that materials are easily accessed.
  • Formulate decisions and make recommendations regarding planning, organizing, and scheduling of photo shoots for headshots, generic video ("B-Roll") and still photographs which reflect the UVA Batten brand.
  • Work with and oversee procurement of external vendor resources and equipment when necessary.
  • Ensure all video and photos are appropriately captioned to meet ADA guidelines.
  • Monitors overall workload to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Evaluates each project component to make sure they meet the original project request.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Experience: Three years experience in professional photo/video experience, preferably in a corporate or university setting
  • Experience in still photography, videography, video editing and production; Knowledge and experience in working with digital photo/video assets repository
  • Comfortable interacting with multiple levels of management
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with design software suites and products such as Adobe, InDesign, Canva, etc.
  • Knowledge of design concepts and production timelines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software

The anticipated hiring range for this role is $55,000 - $65,000 commensurate with qualifications.
