Job Summary / Purpose
The Program Manager of Medical Informatics spearheads the identification and design of physician-facing technologies aimed at optimizing the provider experience at CommonSpirit Health while supporting quality, safety, and operational efficiency goals. This pivotal role entails direct collaboration with Clinical Informatics, IT, and divisional clinicians to ensure the implementation of a gold standard in EHR deployment, optimization strategy, and clinical workflow standardization.

The Program Manager of Medical Informatics spearheads the identification and design of physician-facing technologies aimed at optimizing the provider experience at CommonSpirit Health while supporting quality, safety, and operational efficiency goals. This pivotal role entails direct collaboration with Clinical Informatics, IT, and divisional clinicians to ensure the implementation of a gold standard in EHR deployment, optimization strategy, and clinical workflow standardization.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Lead Large-scale Projects: Lead large-scale projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the provider experience through process and platform enhancements at CommonSpirit Health. Provide support and participation in additional projects and initiatives advocating for workflows and features that benefit providers, quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Residency Program Technology Advocate: Maintain a special focus on Residency Program advocacy and standardization concerning the technologies residents use, such as EHR and population health analytics.
- Clinical Technology Vendor Collaboration Coordinator: Collaborate with clinical technology vendors and internal technology teams to develop and support improvements in provider-facing processes, tools, and technologies.
- Analytics Optimization Promoter: Promote and support the use of analytics to optimize the provider experience at CommonSpirit Health concerning the EHR and associated technologies. Partner with Clinical Informatics to ensure tools are accessible to and understood by those who support clinicians.
- Regulatory Compliance Oversight: Uphold adherence to stringent regulatory requirements and safeguard data privacy and security protocols within the realm of EHR operations. Develop and implement robust compliance frameworks to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Recognition and Knowledge Sharing: Showcase success stories of colleagues who have effectively leveraged health IT solutions to achieve positive outcomes, celebrating achievements and inspiring others to embrace innovation. Foster a culture of recognition and knowledge sharing, promoting peer-to-peer learning and collaboration.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred, with at least 5 years of informatics-related work experience
Required Licensure and Certifications
- Clinical certification or licensure preferred
- Project management certification preferred (ex: PMP, CompTIA)
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
- Proficiency in Information Technology Principles, Practices, and Techniques.
- Demonstrated capability to lead large-scale projects and initiatives effectively.
- Thorough comprehension of EMR platform design, optimization, and support.
- Familiarity with relevant CommonSpirit Health Policies, Procedures, and Information Technology Systems.
- Strong critical thinking and process analysis skills.
- Effective written and oral communication abilities, along with interpersonal skills applicable to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, and the public. Ability to exchange
- information and receive work direction effectively.
