Trinity Rail is hiring a Mobile Repair Technician at our Vidor, TX plant.

What You'll Do:
  • Conduct railcar inspections to ensure cars are in compliance.
  • Perform repairs as necessary while always using current repair procedures.
  • Meet the expectations and requirements of all customers to ensure we deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Ensure all necessary invoicing, inspection, and work order information is accurate and complete.
  • The ability to pass any required NDT disciplines and function specific certifications, which may include tank car welding, and demonstrates strong familiarity with AAR rules and regulations.
  • Actively participate in safety assessments and equipment inspections.
  • Able to perform confined space monitoring and create hot work permits.
  • Follow all safety rules and practices.
  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
  • Perform outlined work under supervision of site or crew leader.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
What You'll Need:
  • Minimum of 1.5 years' experience in railcar maintenance or manufacturing or proficient in one or more of the following disciplines: Air Brake Testing, Welding, Gasket Valves and Fasteners, BLTII, PTII, VTII, Qualified Coating Applicator, Qualified Coating Inspector, Qualified Abrasive Blaster or other qualifications as applicable.
  • Ability to learn all major railcar components and basic functions.
  • Ability to understand Field Manual of the AAR Interchange rules.
  • Ability to use hand tools such as hammers, torches, wrenches, hydraulic jacks, pneumatic tools, and others as required.
  • Basic understanding of how to read engineered drawings.
  • May be required to mentor/train lower-level technicians
