Position Summary

The Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center seeks to hire a highly motivated Short-Term Casual position forthe Molecular Pathology Shared Resource Core.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with routine histology services from grossing to processing, embedding, cutting, and staining of tissues (including tissue microarray-related work).
  • Assist with cutting frozen sections with cryostat.
  • Aid in the maintenance of the tissue bank.
  • Assist with carrying out histology laboratory functions including but not limited to order taking, data entry, ordering supplies, and maintaining records.
  • Assist with constructing tissue microarrays and perform tissue microdissection.
  • Assist in all aspects of laboratory functions including equipment maintenance, supplies, and records.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Enrollment

  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
