The Ohio Digital Academy (ODA) is seeking 1 Data Support Analyst to join our July cohort! The selected analyst will join the Ohio Department of Medicaid's Information Technologies Services office and will be learning relevant skills and technologies in Data disciplines including:

The Ohio Digital Academy seeks to create a technology workforce pipeline by training and employing early entrants to the industry and setting them on a path to careers for

in-demand fields such as cybersecurity, coding, software engineering, user experience design, cloud engineering/architecture, and data analytics.

Selected analysts earn $25 an hour beginning the first day of employment and attend an intensive four-week training program that focuses on civil service training, leadership, technical training & exercises, and professional development within 30 days of hire.

In exchange for a three-year service commitment to the State of Ohio, analysts receive:

• Tuition or loan reimbursement of $20,000 or $40,000 (expenses must be from within one year of joining ODA or while in the program)

The Ohio Digital Academy is a division housed in the Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS) created and led by CyberOhio in collaboration with the Governor's Office of Workforce Transformation (OWT).

Hybrid Telework Schedule: 2 days per week in-office and 3 days per week from remote primary home location. This schedule is subject to change at any time based on business need.

What You'll Do:

Under direct guidance and supervision, works toward acquiring the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform entry-level duties with the Analytics Tool Support Team:

• Gathering data from various sources to ensure comprehensive datasets

• Reviewing and cleaning data to remove errors and inconsistencies

• Using statistical techniques to analyze data and identify trends or patterns

• Creating reports and visualizations to present data insights to stakeholders.

• Assisting users with data tools, troubleshooting issues, and providing training as needed.

• Maintaining and updating databases to ensure data accuracy and integrity

• Working with different teams to understand their data needs and provide relevant support

As an ODA Cybersecurity Analyst, you will be learning and working under the guidance of more experienced professionals. Your job duties will involve supporting them in various tasks while gaining hands-on experience and knowledge in the field of Data Analytics.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Prior or current experience, education, training, or certifications in any combination of the following: data analytics, data visualization, statistical analysis, data quality management, data entry, project management, and technical documentation.

Or

Completion of undergraduate or associate core program in data science, data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, or related field.

• Experience with Microsoft 365 Tools

• Experience or knowledge of Data Security tools

• Experience or knowledge of data governance State and Federal regulations

• Experience with testing/development of software applications

• Experience, education, training, or certifications in Data lineage

Job Skills: Data Analytics, Computer Literacy, Information Technology, Active Learning, Attention to Detail

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge

1. Understanding of fundamental data analysis concepts and techniques.

2. Familiarity with database systems like SQL, MySQL, or Oracle.

3. Knowledge of data tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.

Skills

1. Competence in using data analysis tools and software.

2. Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot data-related issues..

Good verbal and written communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
