Under general direction of the Senior Oil and Gas Engineer (Supervisor), the Associate Oil and Gas Engineer will independently perform Underground Injection Control (UIC), production, gas storage, geothermal, well stimulation, and related engineering work within an area unit in California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) Northern District office. The incumbent performs assignments that require a high degree of knowledge and skill in hydrocarbon and geothermal technology, team leadership, communication, data management, presentation, technical evaluation of proposed oil, gas, and geothermal projects, gas storage projects. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Working Conditions
This position is located in Orcutt and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule. Employees must reside in California and be able to satisfactorily perform their essential work functions independently and remotely. The hybrid telework schedule will allow for up to three days of remote work per week depending on department needs.
Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview but must show proof of residence in California prior to being eligible for appointment.
