Overview of Position

The Overnight Security Manager is responsible for, but not limited to, the overall Hotel Security & Safety of our guests and colleagues during the evening and overnight operation. The Overnight Security Manager will supervise the activities and operations within the department and the Hotel to ensure that a safe working environment exists.

The Overnight Security Manager reports directly to the Director of Safety & Security. The functional positions of Overnight Security Officers and Security Supervisors will report to the Overnight Security Manager.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure that safety hazards are being identified and reported along with any suspicious or unusual activities or behaviours.
  • Present for nightly line ups with the Night Manager and all overnight colleagues.
  • Full understanding of the Overnight Cleaners contract and responsibilities for executing tasks on a nightly basis.
  • Perform walk throughs of FOH and BOH areas of the hotel throughout the shift to monitor work being executed by colleagues, overnight cleaners, and contractors.
  • Assist in implementing and creating measures and procedures to enforce the codes of conduct of our hotel.
  • Assist in creating and implementing SOP's, BCM and BCP policies and procedures to be enforced throughout the hotel.
  • Oversee the operation of the Security department as being performed by officers and supervisors.
  • Oversee all aspects of FLHSS guidelines and ensure guidelines are being adhered.
  • Oversee the training in all aspects such as departmental topics as well as monthly FLHSS topic.
  • In the absence of the Director of Safety & Security to manage any emergency situation and to make a critical decision if necessary.
  • Monitor the schedules and be able to assist in the operation 24 hours, 7 days a week via phone, email or in person if needed.
  • Participate in the interviewing and hiring process for new overnight officers and supervisors.
  • Coach and formally counsel colleagues when required, adhering to Colleague Handbook.
  • Participate in employment decisions regarding colleagues, including employment terminations.
  • Provide an excellent level of customer service.
  • Participate in Emergency Response as a ERT leader together with hotel MOD.
  • Assist the Director of Safety & Security with overall Security operations, standards, and procedures of the Security department.
  • Always follow MOHG Security standards (FLHSS guidelines / GSOM).
  • Conduct drills and simulations of safety topics as per MOHG Standards.
  • Responsible for overseeing the Lost and Found procedures and safekeeping of valuables.
  • Accident & Incident investigation and report preparation.
  • Maintain GuardTek record (reports, inspections, activities etc.).
  • Ensure that HotSOS enquiries and email follow-ups are updated.
  • Ensure proper safety material is provided for new colleagues.
  • Maintain control of master key cards, meeting room keys and key control generally.
  • Maintain control of access control to the building and surrounding areas.
  • Attend hotel meetings and participate in committees if needed.
  • Ensure that required security coverage is provided during the shift.
  • Conduct required ERT fire drills, inspections, and simulations.
  • To be 100% familiar with Fire Panel, Fire Works application, and Fire Emergency/Fire Evacuation procedure.
Requirements
  • Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in the similar position, preferably in a luxury setting.
  • Flexible overnight schedule is required, including weekends and holidays.
  • Have excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Must be able to work in a high-pace and dynamic operation.
  • Able to work together with other colleagues.
  • Have a pleasant, friendly and helpful manner.
  • Maintain a clean and healthy personal hygiene and grooming.
