Cabot Citrus Farms

Cabot's first U.S. destination, Cabot Citrus Farms, is on 1,200 acres of rolling land and will include Cabot's signature combination of world-class golf, luxury accommodations, and real estate opportunities. Opening in 2023, Cabot Citrus Farms will feature two revitalized 18-hole courses, a par-3 course, a new clubhouse, and extensive practice facilities. The property is a 50-minute drive from Tampa and an 80-minute drive from Orlando. While close to urban amenities, the property sits in the central-west region of Florida aptly known as the Nature Coast. Visitors will delight in one-of-a-kind experiences including exceptional hiking, biking, and nature trails at neighboring Withlacoochee State Forest, spring-fed rivers and bountiful lakes at Crystal River, and world-class fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.

Position Overview

As the Security Manager, you will develop and implement efficient security strategies to safeguard our organization's assets. You will ensure Cabot Citrus Farms maintains a secure work environment and conducts regular risk assessments. You will respond to incidents and lead investigations to mitigate potential threats. You will also be responsible for maintaining security equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing training and guidance to staff on security protocols. We seek a highly skilled individual with a deep understanding of security strategies and a proven track record in managing security operations.

The Profile

Reporting to the Director of Recreation, the Security Manager possesses a strong sense of responsibility and is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of guests, staff, and property. With excellent communication skills, they are adept at handling sensitive situations with discretion and tact. Their proactive approach and keen attention to detail enable them to anticipate potential security issues and implement effective preventative measures. This individual is a natural problem-solver who remains calm under pressure and can quickly make sound decisions in emergencies. Their approachable and reassuring demeanor fosters a sense of trust and confidence among guests and team members alike, contributing to a secure and welcoming environment at the resort.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the incident response team during emergencies, ensuring a coordinated and effective response.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all emergency incidents, both internal and external.
  • Oversee the activation and operation of the emergency operations center (EOC) during incidents.
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication with stakeholders, including employees, management, customers, and external agencies.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., security, facilities, HR, IT) to ensure a unified response to incidents.
  • Conduct thorough post-incident analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of the response and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and present findings to senior management & Talent and Culture.
  • Implement corrective actions and update emergency response plans based on lessons learned from incidents.
  • Manage and allocate resources (personnel, equipment, and supplies) required for effective emergency response.
  • Develop and manage the emergency response budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Ensure all emergency response equipment and systems are maintained and ready for use.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the incident response team and other relevant personnel.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in emergency management and incident response.
  • Developing and implementing robust security strategies and policies to protect the company's assets, employees, and facilities.
  • Assessing potential risks and vulnerabilities, investigating security breaches, and reinforcing appropriate measures to mitigate them.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring the safety and security of employees, customers, and assets.
  • Implement the fire safety, emergency preparedness, and life safety policies and procedures.
  • Lead and manage a team of security personnel, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Conducting regular risk & security assessments, audits, and inspections to identify potential threats and hazards.
  • Collaborating and creating relationships with external stakeholders, such as law enforcement agencies and security vendors, to enhance security measures and respond to incidents.
  • Coordinate and conduct regular emergency drills and training sessions for employees and emergency response team.
  • Investigate security breaches, incidents and violations, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
  • Educate employees on security awareness, policies and procedures through training programs and communication initiatives.
  • Stay informed about the latest security technologies, trends, and regulatory requirements and make recommendations for enhancements to the security program.
  • Ensure security measures comply with all relevant local, state, and federal, regulations and industry standards.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in security management, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in security management, law enforcement, or the armed forces, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices.
  • Relevant professional certifications in security management or related areas, like Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Certified Security Manager (CSM).
  • Knowledge of emergency response planning and incident management.
  • In-depth knowledge of security technologies, incident management software, and other security-related equipment, such as access control systems and CCTV surveillance.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement security policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Proficiency in security assessments, audits, and investigations at a large scale.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse security team.


Qualifications
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol the resort property for extended periods.
  • Capable of performing physical activities such as climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Capability of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate security equipment and vehicles as required.
  • Stamina to work in various weather conditions and during extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
