Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Part-time Tutor position tutors and instructs students and community members who need learning assistance in assigned discipline(s) and study skills. Primary responsibilities include providing tutoring and related services, and providing and atmosphere that is conducive to and encourages learning. Responsible for the general areas of student academic support, institutional service, and professional development. This is a temporary, grant-funded position. Continuation of the positon from one academic year to the next is dependent upon continued grant funding.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
- Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
- Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
- Schedule varies semester to semester and can include evenings and weekends
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 3.0 GPA in subject area
- Transcripts and/or a proficiency test may be required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 1 year of tutoring or teaching experience
Salary
Hourly Pay Rate is $9.92
