Summary:

The Patient Services Representative (PSR) will work collaboratively with other hospital services, medical staff, and administration to ensure that quality patient care is delivered. 

Actively participates in the quality of care delivered to patients and participates in departmental QC and performance improvement activities.

Job Description:
Answers telephones

Verifies personal information with patients

Verifies eligibilty and benefits and obtains authorizations/per-certifications

Collects copays

Communicates with insurance companies to ensure CPT and ICD codes are utilized

Scans paperwrok in EHR

Assumes role of scheduler (as needed)

Education: HS graduate or equivalent




Experience: Knowledge of patient registration and insurance verification demonstrated ability to interact effectively and professionally within the work group (personnel, physicians, patients, families and vendors), familiar with medical terminology and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.

Highly organized and efficient work habits.

Good problem solving and planning skills.
