Position Purpose

Work in the Office of Student Experience and Engagement under supervision of Vice Provost Dr. Shari Bax and the student coordinator for the American Democracy Project. The American Democracy Project ( ADP ) is a multi-campus initiative, which involves a series of campus activities coordinated by each participating campus. One project is voter registration, education, and assistance. This position will assist with this effort.

As a peer educator, the student employee will be tasked with giving short scripted presentations on voter registration and providing students with guidance in getting registered to vote and/or requesting an absentee ballot. The student employee needs to:
• Be available and willing to work a variety of shifts or events including late night/early morning hours
• Be comfortable presenting to a group (Content and materials for presentations will be provided, and training will be required)
• Manage their time so as to ensure completion of assigned presentation
• Promptly collect and return presentation materials and record outcomes
• Communicate in a timely and effective manner with student coordinator about availability to complete presentations.
• BE ORGANIZED AND RELIABLE

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and have a GPA of 2.5 or above.
