Assistant Vice President, People Development & Learning - Business Engagement Lead (BEL)

JOB SUMMARY

As Assistant Vice President - Business Engagement Lead in People Development and Learning (PDL), you will play a pivotal role in driving L'Oréal's commitment to bringing development and learning opportunities to people so they can grow and get equipped with the right skills in a changing world.

What You'll Do:

As a Business Engagement Lead on the Acceleration Practice, you are responsible helping drive the individual, team, and organization strategy for priority L'Oreal USA business transformations - including People First Leadership Culture and Simplicity 2 - impacting approximately 13,000 US based employees. You will help create a learning ecosystem that enhances LUSA employees' skills and capabilities to enable professional development and business growth.

This role reports to the Acceleration Practice Lead, Vice President of People Development and Learning.

KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

General
  • Partner with Global PDL and LUSA Executive leadership to build & execute a strategic learning roadmap accelerating priority transformations across L'Oreal USA
  • Project manage large scale learning moments to drive and enable LUSA transformation, such as the People Manager Town Hall and Leadership Exchange
  • Responsible for contributing to global KPIs (coverage, reach and impact) for all US learners
  • Ensure a 360 approach to learning, factoring in on-the-job (OTJ), in-tact team, classroom, coaching, e-learning and all other learning formats
  • Apply Instructional Design principles to create, deliver, and measure strategic/high quality learning solutions, and measure impact
  • Oversee the sourcing & management of external experts, speakers, and facilitators, partnering with procurement and ensuring optimal representation of the L'Oreal brand
  • Leverage data (program performance, reach, impact, etc.) to inform strategic choices & prioritization of offer
  • Act as the PDL subject matter expert for 1-2 content areas. Upskill deeply in those topics, understand and catalogue the landscape of content available, and consult on any training design related to those topics to ensure consistency in methodology and messaging across all PDL programs


Team Consultation and Facilitation
  • Provide team development support to your Leadership Committee client groups, including consultation, design, and facilitation of intact leadership team workshops
  • Recommend and brief third-party facilitators as needed
  • Co-facilitate with other members of the PDL team and external facilitators
  • Local area and US travel approximately 30%


Individual Acceleration Strategy
  • Lead the the Individual Acceleration Strategy for key players for the US People Development & Learning team
  • Partner closely with the US Talent team, HRBPs, and Learning Excellence Practice as well as the global learning team to oversee the seminar by nomination process and manage to SLI KPI of 35% of key players attending an SLI (Significant Learning Investment) every year
  • Manage the executive coaching offer for L'Oreal USA, including 1:1 senior executive coaching process and roster, and coaching at scale with external coaching partners like AceUp
  • Manage key learning programs that aim to accelerate the talent pipeline
  • Manage the Individual Acceleration / Seminar by Nomination learning budget including local and global offer (~$3.5M) and ensure that the team is adhering to L'Oréal's procurement, legal, and payment policies


Skills/Experience:

8+ years of experience with a large, complex organization is desired. Experience and/or knowledge in Human Resources, specifically Learning & Development preferred.
  • Proven ability to Project Manage Executive Level Programming: Able to set goals, manage timelines across multiple simultaneous projects and execute with excellence. Ability to adapt to rapidly evolving and changing priorities and manage complexity in an agile environment.
  • Proven ability to Facilitate at the Senior Executive level: Must be confident and proficient facilitating in front of both large and small executive level audiences and managing group dynamics with intact senior leadership teams. Previous facilitation experience is required.
  • Proven ability in Strategic Consultation and Needs Assessment: Able to work with senior leaders to analyze complex business problems and define, validate, and develop solutions in collaboration with learning & development partners.
  • Strong Influencing Skills: Able to demonstrate strong E.Q. and listening skills. Able to set boundaries and drive decisions through influence.
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication: Able to communicate a message in an engaging and inspiring way to multiple levels in the organization.
  • Strong Analytical & Data Analysis Skills: Able to analyze large data sets and create stories around them; leverage data to make strategic choices. A strong understanding of the Kirkpatrick model of evaluation is preferred.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Teams, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
