ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team
- The Category Manager for Unconventional Wells has overall responsibility to drive value and efficiency and expand market advantage via end-to-end category management (from strategy to implementation), while ensuring operational integrity and people development
- This role supports the Wells Procurement portfolio for our Unconventional Wells business in North America, with potential focus areas including Drilling Services, Completions / Workover, and Proppant
- The job is located at ExxonMobil's campus in Spring, TX (north Houston)
- Provide category and commercial guidance to Contract Leads within the Wells category family
- Represent Procurement in category networks and maintain Category Planning knowledge sites
- Translate business strategies into commercial acquisitions strategies that deliver business value
- Responsible for developing and stewarding category-specific business value and cost savings plans
- Ensure category strategy penetration into various agreements and broader procurement plans via templates and tools (e.g. bid evaluation, scope of work, compensation tables, agreement action plans, ERP implementation, etc.)
- Develop and sustain business and category expertise for all category network participants
- Communicate category strategies to Contract Leads, Contract Managers, Procurement Managers, Business Line Representatives, and Procurement process owners
- Support development and execution of Procurement Plans in coordination with Senior Procurement management
- Ensure category terms and conditions and processes are fit-for-purpose
- Review and endorse process documents (Procurement Plans, Agreement Awards, Bid Evaluations, etc.)
- Lead or support key supplier relationship engagements and participate in operational business reviews
- Provide performance input, mentoring, and performance feedback for intra-category Contract Leads
- Support Contract Leads in T&C and commercial terms negotiations
Skills and Qualifications
- Procurement / commercial functional expertise
- Experience / familiarity with the Oil & Gas, Drilling and Completions business
- Demonstrated ability to identify, capture and apply industry leading information
- Ability to identify and incorporate new information or insights to create opportunities
- Leadership skills / Communication skills
- Analytical skills / understanding of total system cost concept
- Proven ability to advocate and influence at all levels of the organization
- Strategic thinking and relevant Supplier Relationship Management experience
- Interpersonal skills; ability to lead virtual teams
- Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency and personal ownership
- BS in Engineering, Supply Chain, or other applicable business degree
- 10 years Oil and Gas Industry Procurement experience
- International business experience
- Effective negotiation, advocacy and influencing skills, including terms and conditions negotiations
- Experience with Purchase-to-Pay process
- Experience with procurement methods including RFIs, competitive bids, auctions
- Proven project planning and execution skills
- Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning systems
- Demonstrated Continuous Improvement approach to business processes
