Sr. Category Manager - Network Devices
Houston, Texas
Our Tech Category Team is looking for a Senior Category/Commodity Manager that has experience with sourcing networking components from manufacturers such as Cisco. This is a role that has exposure at VP+ level and that can influence sourcing strategy for networking components at a Pan-Amazon level, and is also responsible for procurement spend through category management, negotiation of global supplier contracts, increasing our diverse and small business supplier base, and continuously improving our supplier performance.
Key job responsibilities
- Identify, develop and deliver long term sourcing strategies, lead key initiatives with cross-functional teams; drive the decision making process of the category roadmap with senior leadership
- Drive commercial relationships with suppliers, with a principal objective of achieving optimal cost and performance
- Lead supplier performance management; including improving sustainability & social responsibility
- Coordinate and collaborate with global/local teams to deploy and manage the implementation of your defined strategies
- Influence suppliers' roadmaps, design, processes, technology decisions and strategies
- Lead complex and cross-functional projects productivity, sustainability and innovations
- Innovate in an autonomous way and deliver new approaches that impact the bottom and the top line

We are known as the Tech, LATAM, AMET Team. What this means is that we manage all Tech related categories/commodities globally, but we also support our stakeholders for all their procurement needs (i.e. Packaging, Equipment, Services, Construction, Building Infrastructure Services, Safety, Security and Operations, and Energy) for Latin America and for Africa, Middle East, Egypt and Turkey. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
