As a Backend Engineer on the Insurance Tech Platform team, you'll be a key contributor in crafting and building numerous internal tools and services to support insurance products, which help our communities handle risk with one-of-a-kind protection programs that are unmatched in the travel industry.

As a Backend Engineer on the Insurance Tech Platform team, you'll be a key contributor in crafting and building numerous internal tools and services to support insurance products, which help our communities handle risk with one-of-a-kind protection programs that are unmatched in the travel industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with multi-functional partners such as Product, Operations, and Engineers to craft and deliver high-quality products.
- Build efficient and reusable backend components and architect reliable, performant, and scalable solutions.
- Identify areas of improvement and drive standard processes.
- 5+ years of relevant software development experience.
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages and frameworks (Kotlin, Java, Python).
- Exposure to architectural patterns of a large, high-scale system/product (e.g., well-designed APIs, high-volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms).
- Willingness to work across the backend stack to address technical challenges anywhere in the system.
- Excellent social skills and a passion to participate in team meetings, working sessions, and code reviews.
- Proven track record to collaborate with Product Management as well as other specialists across the stack.
- Familiarity with GraphQL.
- [Bonus] Experience with using LLMs.
