Job Summary/Basic Function

Middle Tennessee State University's Center for Health and Human Services, in partnership with the MTSU Data Science Institute, formed an Office of Prevention Science and Recovery (OPSR) in 2023 for purposes of addressing the opioid epidemic through strategic and coordinated efforts at the local level in response to and working collaboratively with the Rutherford County Opioid Board (RCOB). The OPSR is adding a new position with funding from the Tennessee Opioid Abatement Council (TOAC) to provide project coordination for two recovery-focused projects funded by the TOAC.
The Recovery Support Project Coordinator will be responsible for working under the direction of the CHHS Director and the CHHS Senior Statewide Senior Project Coordinator - OPSR and in consultation with the CHHS pre- and post-grants coordinator and other OPSR staff. This position will coordinate local opioid use disorder (OUD) activities of the OPSR specific to Hustle Recovery Respite Housing and Capacity Building/Residential Aftercare projects.
• Assisting Hustle Recovery with programmatic and technical support needs for two funded projects - Respite Housing and Capacity Building/Residential Aftercare - to ensure all project deliverables are met.
• Assisting Hustle Recovery with data collection needs to ensure data collected are in alignment with that included in the project proposal and that support quality reporting to the funder.
• Ensuring adherence to project workplans and timelines.
• Engaging with the Hustle Recovery staff to collect data, data processing, coordinating with MTSU DSI on data analysis and reporting, and offering program evaluation and technical assistance to Hustle Recovery for the two TOAC-funded programs.
• Participating in and supporting efforts of an MTSU OPSR annual meeting or conference and/or quarterly roundtables for Hustle Recovery and other opioid abatement funding recipients to share challenges and success and disseminate best practices.
• Adhering to all administrative and fiscal requirements of the two MTSU CHHS Hustle Recovery grant awards and assisting the CHHS Director and CHHS Senior Statewide Project Coordinator in developing all required and requested reports.
• Assist with development of conference presentations, papers and publications that support dissemination of project activities and outcomes and sharing of challenges, successes, and best practices, and participate as a speaker and/or representative of CHHS as opportunities are available.
• Provide other assistance to the CHHS director, CHHS post-grants coordinator, CHHS Senior Statewide Project Coordinator - ORPS and the MTSU DSI team that support successful fulfillment of contract deliverables and to further development of the OPSR.
Required Education

A minimum of a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to two years of full-time work in a substance use disorder related role. Those with degrees in public health, social work, sociology, psychology, education, or social services related fields will be given priority.
Required Related Experience

Two years equivalent full time work experience in a substance use disorder related role.

Desirable Related Experience

- Those with lived experience with SUD/OUD recovery is desired.
- General experience in the area of substance use or opioid use disorder with articulated knowledge of current conditions, trends, and best-practices within the field of substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery.
- Demonstrated experience in working effectively with diverse stakeholders. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate clearly.
- Preferred experience with grant-funded work with preference given to those with experience specific to substance use disorder/opioid use disorder.
- Demonstrated experience in organizing and effectively facilitating meetings, delivering oral presentations and reports, and in writing clear, concise reports for internal and external audiences.
