Job Description:

Worker is responsible for evaluation of annual energy and peak demand savings attributed to the adoption of a new energy code using the 16 DOE Commercial prototype models ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1-2022 and 90.1-2019 by: running the model .idf files in Energy Plus or OpenStudio modified with Austin weather data and design day conditions, processing results to determine deemed savings per square foot, updating internal forms/reports with inputs and results, and analysis process. Plus, modifying two of the prototype models to create additional prototype models for analysis.

Worker serves as Project Lead of the Integrated Modeling Incentive program responsible for coordinating with the technical services contractor hired to conduct post-occupancy analysis for five participating projects by: supplying Austin Energy deliverables, monitoring and reporting project status, reviewing and approving final report, and coordinating the issuing of the final incentive payments.

Worker may assist in the evaluation of customer energy models submitted for AEGB ratings by assimilating project data from project documentation and energy model reports into AEGB program standard form.

Required Skills:

• 4-7 years of experience in Manages projects that require a level of technical proficiency as well as coordinative and administrative responsibility
• 2 years of experience in Creates building energy models in EnergyPlus and/or OpenStudio
• 2 years of experience in Skill in reading plans and specifications of new commercial and/or multifamily building construction projects to determine energy model inputs
• 2 years of experience in Knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1 appendix G
• 3 years of experience in Skill in using Excel at intermediate level

Preferred Skills:

• 2 years of experience in Conducts building energy audits
• 2 years of experience in Conducts quality checks of building energy models for new commercial and/or multifamily construction projects
• 2 years of experience in Knowledge of weather files and modifying climate input data for energy models
• 0.25 years of experience in Knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1-2022 appendix G
• 1 year of experience in Knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1-2019 appendix G
