System One is in search of a Project Manager for a long-term contract assignment for our client onsite in Soddy-Daisy, TN.

Nuclear industry experience is required.

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, direction, management, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects according to specifications, within budget cost from initiation through completion. The Project Manager leads joint project teams (JPTs), applying professional principles, practices, and techniques to manage and control project schedule, cost, and performance risk to ensure the project is completed within a certain set of constraints (e.g., time, budget, people, quality, materials) and at a high level of quality. This role is generally assigned medium-sized projects or functions within a larger project. Work is primarily achieved by an individual or through project teams. The Project Manager is the single point of contact regarding a specific project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Direction: Oversee the planning and direction of projects from initiation through completion.
  • Team Leadership: Lead joint project teams (JPTs) and manage cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Risk Management: Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Budget Management: Manage project budgets over $8 million or a portfolio of projects with an aggregate total over $25 million.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the single point of contact for stakeholders regarding project status and updates.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all projects are completed to a high level of quality within the defined constraints.


Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a technical field, or equivalent education, training, and/or related work experience.
  • Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
  • Additional: Must be working toward a PMP certification if not already certified.


Experience

  • Minimum of five years of utility project manager experience or equivalent functional area work experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Proven knowledge of project management techniques and experience resolving complex problems.
  • Practical experience in project scoping and cost estimating.
  • Ability to analyze in-depth technical problems and determine the most cost-effective solutions.
